A winning week!

March 11, 2015

It's been a winning couple of weeks here at Adorn. As well as all of our usual activities we have lots of congratulations to give out too!

Adorn has some guest artists lined up for the coming months. First of all we have the return of Fiona Lewitt. She will be here between 16 - 25th April. Then we have Mariusz Kaczmarek with us between 1st - 19th June. A couple of examples of each of their work is shown below. If you would like to book then please do pop into the shop ASAP!

Here is a healed piece by Fi and a selection of pieces that she would really like to tattoo. Fi has a design book bursting with pieces ready to go…

Here is a fresh Frankenstein piece by Mariusz and a pug that he would like to tattoo as well. He is able to work across multiple styles and has lots of designs ready to go. If you would like to get booked in with him then come and see us in the shop soon.

Anna will be away at her guest spot at True Colours in Preston this week. Good luck Anna! She has been tattooing some more traditional motifs this week as well as going under the needle herself. She tattooed a full colour moth and a traditional swallow amongst other designs.

Josh Taylor had the enjoyment of adding more white designs to Anna's existing throat piece.

Josh Taylor got one of his black and grey roses published in Total Tattoo Magazine this week. Total tattoo is a prestigious magazine, so a big well done Josh! Josh has also been finishing off a lot of larger pieces this week. He has been working in black and grey to create an angel, a Robocop, a hand and Polynesian based pieces, plus a full colour frog on the thigh and a skull cover-up…

There are some major Congratulations going to Jay Watson this week. He won his first ever Tattoo competition! He won the best black and dot work category at the Manchester International Tattoo Convention. This was only the second ever tattoo convention that he has worked! As well as working away at Manchester Jay has also created a Hamsa hand - and a tribute to Leonard Nimoy in his dot-work style.

Rachelle Downs, our amazing apprentice, has been working on getting some tattoos of different styles under her belt. She finished off a full colour snowboard themed piece and then a sun and moon piece this week. Well done Rach!

Aiden and Chelsea took a day away from piercing last week to get trained in First Aid and CPR. They did this so they can offer the best possible care to their clients and are prepared for any eventuality in the shop.

The new Neometal jewellery order has arrived! Chelsea snapped up these genuine moonstones straight away. Don't worry we have lots of other Neometal in stock and if we don’t have what you want, we can order it without any problems.

Chelsea has been piercing a couple of more unusual places on the body this week. She has pierced a conch, lower navel, scaffold and a vertical labret amongst a whole variety of other places!

Aiden has been upgrading a lot of jewellery this week as well as stretching a tongue, getting some updated shots of a scar he did last year - and drawing up some new scar designs.

As well as his work in store, Aiden has also travelled up to Newcastle to attend the first UK Piercer Meet Up. This is a professional network that Aiden is helping to set-up that will offer training, guidance and advice to piercers across the country. If you are a piercer and would like to get involved or come along to the next meet-up, then head over to www.UKMPU.co.uk
