This Christmas, three Shrewsbury town centre businesses have decided to do their bit for charity. Adorn is one of them of course, alongside Strands and Urban Folk our neighbours.
All three of us are now collecting food to donate to the Shrewsbury Food Bank.
Please consider donating what you possibly can, to help those who are less fortunate when it comes to winter and Christmas this year.
Donated food will be donated to the Shrewsbury Food Bank on December 21st, providing plenty of time for food to be sourced.
Items that the food bank desperately needs - and which Adorn, Strands and Urban Folk are calling out for, include: tinned sandwich meat, shampoo, shower gel, orange squash, custard, jam and marmalade. Also required urgently are tins of rice pudding, mince/stewing steak, stew, tinned veg including carrots and peas, tinned spaghetti, tinned tomatoes and tins of soup .
Pasta sauce, curry sauces, laundry powder/tablets, toothpaste, baby wipes and nappies are also needed, as well as biscuits and finally semi-skimmed long life milk is currently in very high demand.
Speaking of the fund-raising initiative, Aiden Johnson of Adorn says “We are really pleased at Adorn to have teamed-up with our neighbours Urban Folk and Strands. It’s always important of course to help people, but particularly more so at Christmas, especially families that are struggling to provide food to children.”
Aiden adds “All three businesses involved urge local people to get involved and donate what they can. Donated food and other household items really will make a difference during this year’s Festivities.”
The appeal is of extra significance to Adorn, as one of the newest members of the team had to use a food bank over summer before joining Adorn - and it means a lot to them on a personal level that the business, along with neighbours, is supporting a food bank.
Donations can be dropped off to Adorn, Strands and Urban Folk of Grope Lane.
