Seminars, classes and lots of work!

August 18, 2016

The Adorn team have been so busy recently! We’ve been away at seminars and classes bringing new ideas and techniques back to the people of Shrewsbury - we have lots of work to share with you all too!

The lovely Dave Rustro has been working with us again recently. He was very busy in his stay and we look forward to having him back to work with us in the future. While he was here with us he did this skull and rose piece with some lovely colours in, he also did work on an existing client adding a black and grey Viking piece to his existing healed work also by Dave - plus lots of smaller pieces like these watercolour style origami birds…

Anna has been doing lots of different styles of floral tattoos recently. She got to put her own twist on a classic illustration of a snakes head fritillary flower with a beautiful graphic outline which was super effective! She also did a simple and very pretty bunch of flowers with some script and some more nature - and got a photo of some healed mountains she did on the same client. Anna has lots of unusual ideas for floral and nature style tattoos like the sketch below, so contact the studio if you have any ideas for her!

Rachelle has been doing lots of traditional style colour pieces like this heart in memory of the clients grandparents. She also did an unusual pixelated game style piece using similar colours. She then did some reworking and fixing of a client’s existing dotwork sleeve that she evened up and started to extend - it certainly looks better already! Finally Rachelle worked on a challenging elbow mandala as her clients first tattoo and he sat really well!

Our piercing team have been very busy recently using lots of beautiful jewellery! Chelsea used an odyssey clicker in a daith piercing using large clear Swarovski crystals which is super classy and eye catching! She then used a large flower cluster by body gems that we’d wanted to find a home for and it found one in this ladies helix that was pierced for this jewellery specifically. Chelsea then did an upper lobe piercing on a long term client and used a tiny rose gold pyramid to match up with her other stunning pieces! Finally a client came back for downsizes on her healed piercings and said she wanted bling so we gave her bling! She chose a rose gold halo by body gems with clear czs and then chose some single prong set titanium ends anodised to match and it looks fantastic!

Aiden has been away recently at the APP conference in Las Vegas! He and a few other members from the UK went for a busy week of learning new techniques and meeting piercers from all over the world and also managed to bring lots of jewellery back to Shrewsbury! The first piece to go was this stunning hammered white gold moon by body gems in a tragus piercing on a lovely regular client. He then got to use some more white gold pieces like this simple open heart by BVLA in a fresh helix piercing. A more unusual project to finish with, Aiden did a custom scaffold project for a client who unfortunately didn’t have the correct anatomy for a traditional scaffold piercing and he used components by anatometal and industrial strength to make this bar for her which we anodised her favourite colour. Just shows that at Adorn, we can always find you something special and unusual!

Final announcement is that we have Fran Bailey coming to work with us! She will be bringing some colour to the people of Shrewsbury between the 8th-10th September, so contact us quick to book in with her!
